OAC "Your Weight Matters" Conference: I wanna go and you can help me get there!

This October the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) will hold their Inaugural "Your Weight Matters" conference in Dallas, TX. I really want to go! But I am already scheduled to go to the Obesity Help conference in Atlanta earlier that month and my travel budget does not allow for both.

But you all can help me get to Dallas!

Wait...I'm getting ahead of myself. If you've never heard of the OAC, here's what they have to say about themselves.

The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is the ONLY non-profit organization whose sole focus is representing individuals affected by obesity. Founded in 2005, the OAC remains at the forefront of the fight against obesity. From advocating on capitol hill for access to obesity treatments to publishing hundreds of educational resources for individuals affected, the OAC truly represents the voice of all those affected by obesity.
Today, more than 93 million Americans are affected by obesity. The OAC feels it is imperative to raise awareness of the disease of obesity, ensure access to safe and effective treatment options and eradicate the negative bias and stigma associated with it.
If you are affected by obesity or care for individuals affected, we ask that you join the OAC today and help us strengthen our voice. Together we DO make a difference.

So they are a good organization doing good work on behalf of the millions of Americans who are obese. The conference schedule has great and informative sessions and it looks like there will be a lot of great discussion. I'd love to be a part of it and report back to you all about it!

Here's how you can help me get there.

If you are planning on attending this conference, there's a box on both the online and paper registration forms that asks you to identify who referred you. Please put my name (which is Nikki Massie, by the way) along with BF's email address bariatricfoodie@yahoo.com.

TEXANS especially...you know if I come down there I HAVE to have a food tasting or a party or SOMETHING. So let's get together! This is a great conference and they really want to get folks out for the first year. In future years I can see this convention going to other cities and, in doing so, city-by-city, we can raise awareness about obesity.

Thank you for your support!
